WASA is led by a highly dedicated group of individuals who ensure the association is well managed and efficiently run. Below are the current officers:
President
Uzo Idigo is a 2013 MBA candidate with a major in Finance. Prior to Wharton, Uzo spent six years working in sales & marketing. She started her career at Black & Decker in a sales & marketing rotational program where she worked with a variety of retail partners. Most recently, she worked at URL Pharma a privately-held pharmaceutical company where she helped launch a new blockbuster drug. At Wharton, Uzo is also an admissions fellow and communications TA. Conference Co-Chair
Tambandini is a 2013 MBA candidate majoring in Finance. Prior to Wharton, she worked as an Associate in Investment Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London. At BAML, Tambandini focused on M&A, strategic advisory and capital raising for healthcare companies. Prior to her role at BAML, she was an Analyst at Merrill Lynch in the New York office and a Financial Analyst at Johnson & Johnson. At Wharton, she is actively involved with the African Students Association, Wharton Women and the Public Speaking Club. Tambandini graduated from the Wharton School with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (dual concentration in Finance and Marketing). She enjoys international travel, mystery novels and is an avid football fan.
CFO & Fundraising
Annie is a 2013 Wharton/Lauder candidate majoring in Entrepreneurship and French. She grew up in China, Canada, Hong Kong, USA, India and France and plans to live in Francophone Africa in the near future. As part of her Lauder Master’s thesis she recently traveled to Dakar, Senegal and Guangzhou, China to research Chinese immigrants living in Senegal and African immigrants living in China. Prior to Wharton, Annie obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and worked for 4 years in a boutique operations consulting firm in Washington DC. Co-VP, Prospective Students and Academics
Kwame Danso graduated from University of Science and Technology, Ghana with a first class honors degree in Electrical Engineering. Prior to Wharton, he worked as an Assistant Manager in the Corporate Banking Division of Ecobank Ghana Ltd, where he managed a portfolio of large public sector clients. Kwame majors in Finance and Strategic Management at Wharton, and is deeply involved in community programs involving mentoring and tutoring in Philadelphia. He’s into all forms of music and dance!
Co-VP, Prospective Students and Academics
Seun was born and raised in Nigeria. He received a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and then transitioned to the financial services industry, working as an equity research analyst before embarking on his Wharton MBA journey. At Wharton, Seun has been very active in WASA and the Investment Management club. He was selected as a Wharton blogger in his first year and is currently a Wharton Admissions fellow. He is passionate about increasing the African representation at Wharton and helping new admits get the best out of their experience. He is currently doing a summer internship at T.Rowe Price in London.

Omolara is a 2013 MBA candidate majoring in Strategic Management and Operations. Prior to Wharton, she worked for The Nielsen Company, where she focused on market research for clients in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry. At Wharton, Lara is also active in Say Yes to Education and the Consulting Club. Lara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University. She enjoys reading, international travel and follows professional basketball fervently.
VP, External Affairs
Gazah is a 2013 MBA candidate majoring in Healthcare Management and Finance. Prior to Wharton, he worked at Emerging Capital Partners (ECP), a pan-African focused private equity fund, based in Johannesburg, South Africa. His areas of focus were natural resources, oil and gas, financial services and infrastructure. He then moved to the Southern African Enterprise Development Fund (SAEDF), an SME fund capitalized by the USAID and with a focus on Southern Africa. Prior to moving back to Africa, Gazah worked in Sales and Trading and Investment Banking divisions of Merrill Lynch in London. During the summer of 2012, he interned with Tana Africa Capital, an Oppenheimer & Son and Temasek capitalized fund based in Johannesburg, South Africa. After Wharton, he hopes to go back to Africa and work in private equity with a focus on healthcare investments. He is the social chair for the Wharton Soccer Club.
